| I recently ordered one of the new Tekna Close Contact Jumping Saddles from the same company that supplies the U.S. with well-known brands such as Pessoa, Anky, and Ovation. I have to admit, I was skeptical about this saddle line because I have never been a fan of synthetic saddles or tack. I like the idea of lower cost, lower maintenance tack, but have always been disappointed by poorly crafted saddles that did not offer a nice, balanced seat, and the security of nice, well placed, knee and thigh blocks. When this saddle arrived and I took it out of the box, my very first reaction was "WOW... This saddle is pretty!" Who would have thought? A pretty synthetic saddle? The photos online don't compare to the real thing; this saddle is better looking than any synthetic I've ever seen; even better looking than any leather saddles in the same price range. I was even more impressed when I inspected the saddle more thoroughly and sat in it myself. When I looked under the flaps, I noticed nice knee blocks and thigh blocks; a well balanced deeper seat, and synthetic material that is not slippery. Can I say "Wow" again? I can also attest to the quick-clean attribute of this material. While I was taking measurements of this saddle, I accidentally left a large blue ink pen mark on the flap... and it wiped right off! So, if you are looking for a nice, budget-friendly saddle, consider a new Tekna saddle. This saddle is far superior in balance, comfort, and appearance to other models; even leather models, that retail new for this price.
